Gendered toys on Curb Your Enthusiasm: Should boys play with sewing machines?

What do you think? Should Larry have given Greg this present? I definitely think so. He loved it and why shouldn't he have a sewing machine? Not all 'boys' love sports and not all girls love dolls. Gay or straight, it doesn't matter. Children should be allowed to play with cross-gendered toys...

Corrective Rape

Most South Africans have heard of corrective rape, where lesbian women are raped by men who want to 'correct' their seemingly 'abnormal' lesbian behaviour. This is a widespread practice all over South Africa, and for the women being raped, few have seen their rapist prosecuted. But what about those who want to 'correct' lesbian women, but don't rape them? There are so many people who believe that gay and lesbian individuals should not be. That they are evil, promiscuous, unnatural beings. How do we start to change the minds of people who have such ingrained thinking?

Love is Love

Love is Love is a short film made during Proposition 8. It brilliantly shows a world where it's 'normal' to be homosexual and abnormal to be 'heterosexual'. Love is love for everyone. It means the same for all those who love and cannot be contained or explained.

God loves fags

For those of you who haven't seen this Louis Theroux doc, I highly recommend it. This is one of his best. It's about The Westboro Baptist Church - those responsible for the GOD HATES FAGS pickets in the U.S. I love the way even people who are obviously homophobic, saying 'I don't agree with the (gay) lifestyle' or give the picketers the finger as they drive by, are shocked and appauled by this church. This family has obviously taken their beliefs a bit far.

Here is a snippet from the documentary:
