The Barbie Tutorial

These kinds of video tutorials are of course going HUGE on the net. They are brilliant I must say, especially Michelle and Promise Phan's videos. They now have millions of followers and the numbers are climbing. But why? Who really wants to look like a Barbie? Will we soon be seeing 'every day folk' walking around looking like this or are people merely intrigued by the transformation of a face?

No more anorexic models

Loving this!

Androgynous or just plain misogynistic?

These are the new photos featured in Tom Ford's 2012 Lookbook. Way more boobs, bums and flesh than clothes I must say. They look very androgynous, yet, the misogynistic nature of the pics tick me off. It's fun and playful, yet it reminds us of the '50s ads. The focus almost always on the man, looking powerful, as the woman sits quietly, looking vulnerable.

'My hero.'

The woman tends to the mans needs.

The woman is dominated by the man in these pictures, hence the misogynistic undertone.

She is merely an extra, a toy. He's the important one.

iAfghanistan

"While the War escalates in Afghanistan 10 years after the US invasion, Afghans continue their lives plagued by many of the same issues existed under the Taliban - poverty, violence, and extremism. Using an iPhone as part of my continuing ViDi project tried to capture the zeitgeist of Afghan society in a more subtle and perhaps technologically innovative way." Photographer Benjamin Lowy

The girl with the perfect face

18-year-old, Florence Colgate has been dubbed “Britain’s Most Beautiful Face.”
She recently won a Britain-wide beauty contest, sponsored by Lorraine Cosmetics. Her face is symmetrical and scientifically perfect.
But as Jezebel says: " In a world with so many different types of people and diverse tastes, it's impossible to determine what's objectively attractive because, really, there's no such thing as objectively attractive. Different strokes for different folks! "
I completely agree.

If women acted like men - Funny video

Ok so, pretty stereotypical, but quite funny. True in some ways for some and irrelevant to others.
